Getting creative

I finally picked up my knitting needles again. It had been about 10 months since my decision last year to make us all Christmas stockings. In my defense, I did get halfway through one stocking and my knitting bag sat in the living room for a good 2 months after I had stopped. So the intentions were there....

So January 9th, I looked through my patterns, found an easy one, wound some yarn and cast one. Two nights later, I had a hat.

I've joined a forum on www.ravelry.com to knit 12 objects in 2011. One a month. I think if I can knit a hat in 2 days, I can knit 12 items in 12 months. Just need to stay focused.

So in keeping with my resolve to knit more often, on January 16th I cast on for Project #2 of the year. The Prismatic Scarf

I'm using Manos del Uruguay yarn which is fabulous to knit with and should turn our really pretty. Progress pictures to follow...

Lazy Sunday

Sunday was much different than Saturday. We did a whole bunch of nothing.

Ethan and Mia played their Nintendo DS's while the rest of us had a nap.

This is where Jason, Zoey and Tanner napped.

Roxie and Holly. They have a serious love/hate relationship.

Then after everyone was through napping, the girls and I had a Tea Party. It was quite lovely! Zoey and Mia set up the table.

Productive Saturday

Saturday helped my mental state so much. The kids being out of school for the entire week was draining! The house had gotten to a state of complete disarray. It seems like there was something on every single surface. And if you know me, then you realize that the clutter was slowly driving me out of my mind.

After breakfast, I sent the kids to the playroom and moved from one space to the next picking up, putting away, throwing away and cleaning. Downstairs took 2 1/2 hours but I can now look around and not feel sick to my stomach.

After lunch, I ventured out to the grocery store. It had been a whole week since I'd left the house by myself. It seems that everyone in the entire state had the same idea. My normal Sam's club/Kroger trip took twice as long as normal.

Testing...

Trying to get my blog up and running again. Just found out that I can upload pictures to the website straight from Picasa.

More to come....
